My name is Luis, I’m an ACF Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) and a free lance photographer. For most of my adult life I’ve been a Chef. A nomadic journey has taken me thousands of miles from coast to coast to coast. I fell in love with food and later photography largely due to the influence of my grandparents. My grandmother was the best cook alive making everything from charcuterie, fresh cheeses, breads, and our native Portuguese cuisine, while my grandfather made his own wine and olive oil annually. I was immersed in culinary traditions at a young age and additionally found myself very artistic as a kid, being able to sketch, sculpt, paint and illustrate. When I was 9 years old my grandfather gifted me a 35mm point and shoot camera and I remember carrying it places much to my mother’s dismay, taking photos and enjoying the process, impatiently dropping off film for development. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Advertising with a focus on Creative Strategies, I subsequently took courses at New England School of Photography and then later graduated from the French Culinary Institute in NYC. Over the years, I’ve put in efforts into both of my creative interests with culinary arts my primary career and photography as a hobby. Both scratch my itch for creativity, maintaining an eye for composition, vibrant color, and a burning love affair for black and white. This site highlights a number of my favorite moments and I’m excited to share my viewpoint with you.
